Ohio State Agricultural Technology Institue (ATI), 1328 Dover Road, Wooster, Ohio, 44691, United States.

Gateway to Natural Hoof Care Clinic

The Ohio State University Agricultrual Technology Institute, Wooster, OH

9:00 am Monday, 12 June 4 through 3:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2018.

The “Gateway Clinic” is the foundation of our Hoof Care Training Programs. It is where the road to a professional hoof care career and certification begins. But it is also a very valuable clinic for non-professionals. Participants receive hands-on, supervised instruction that prepares them to successfully trim their own horse or evaluate the work of their professional trimmer. In addition, it is a perfect venue for enlightened individuals seeking authentic information about factors that affect hoof health and the mental and physical wellbeing of horses.

Cadaver hooves are used during the clinic, so, participants can focus on learning to trim without the worry of handling a horse. This also allows participants to become proficient trimmers without putting a live horse’s hooves at risk.

Accommodations: Students will stay in Campus Housing, Sunday, June 3 through Friday night, June 8. Housing at ATI is on-campus apartments. Each student will have their own bedroom and share a bathroom and kitchen. Bed and bath linens are provided.

Meet & Greet: Sunday 7 pm, June 3 at the Meeting Room in the housing office. Meals: Light breakfast each morning and lunch provided by campus food service Monday through Friday.

Transportation: There is free onsite parking. Nearest airports are Cleveland Hopkins International or Akron-Canton. We provide transportation to and from the airport by Wooster Transit included in the cost of registration.

Registration opens February 25, 2018 and closes May 4, 2018, or when clinic is full. Registration fees include five-day clinic, accommodations, transfer from Cleveland Hopkins International or Akron-Canton airport to and from ATI and light breakfast and lunches Monday through Friday. Partial payment options are available. Space is limited.
